My name is Serena Roderick and I am a 24 year old living in Brookline, Massachusetts. I graduated Northeastern University in December of 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Graphic Design. Now I am looking to start my career doing interface design and software development. I have always had a deep fascination with technology due to its seemingly limitless capabilities and contributions to the advancement and betterment of humanity. Being able to make an impact in this field excites me and I am eager to join a company that will allow me to do so.

2011

I fell in love with coding in 8th grade by learning HTML/CSS on Youtube and Codeacademy.com.

2013

In my sophomore year of high school I took my first graphic design class which allowed me to discover the artistic side of myself that I had never pursued before.

2015

I started my first freelance work doing graphic design, 3D modeling, and animation. This experience helped me to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to be the confident designer that I am today.

2019

In my 3rd year at Northeastern, I started my first full-time job as a graphic designer. I worked for Northeastern’s Advancement Events team to create posters, nametags, signage, and brochures for upcoming university events. I also managed the team’s website, social media, and frequent correspondence with vendors and clients. This experience helped me to realize that I wanted to pursue a career in this field.

TODAY

Currently I am looking for a software development job. Through my studies I have become a confident programmer in Python, Java, HTML/CSS, Javascript, and C#. I am excited to take on challenging projects where I can have an impact and I am ready to start as soon as possible!
